Ray Tracer is a search engine, specificlly a web surfer.

He had been arrested by the Guardians for unauthorized Net travel and was awaiting deletion. When Matrix and The Crimson Binome rescued the crew of the Saucy Mare from jail, Ray called out to Matrix, asking for help. Martix didn't like Ray from the first time that he met him, but because of some humbling words from Captain Capcitor, Ray was freed by one blast from Matrix's gun.

Later, while being chased by the CPU'S, Ray came across AndrAIa, who was completely surrounded by three CPU Patrolers. After rescuing her, took her to dock 66 where Matrix was waiting for her. When the Saucy Mare's portal generator went off line, Ray said he'd help them into the web for AndrAIa's sake.

As the journey in the web goes on, a very distant friendship grows between Matirx and the surfer.

When Ray enters Mainframe, Mouse takes a liking to him, and when the system is crashing, Mouse locks Ray in a six nano kiss.
