The Boy Who Saw the Iceberg

Now, sadly, I didn't see this short from the beiginning. I was volenteering at the ticket booth - that's where I put in my hours to get my free pass.

Anyway, the film takes place on the Titanic, with a little boy staring in the ten minute short. It was done in split screen - the animation was devided down the middle - one side was reality, the other side was the little boys imagination. I found that way of expressing that to be very effective.

The style of animation is like the classic Canadian animation short "The Cat Came Back" (and for anyone who hasn't see that... where in the world are you?!) I also didn't completely understand was was going on story wise since I missed the beginning - sometimes that's very important. But what I did gather from the short, it had a very sad tone to it (of course it's about the Titanic).

Dispite the fact I didn't understand it, I liked it and would like to see the film in it's entirity. Maybe one of these days, it'll show on Teletoon.
